The United States government has stated in a recent briefing that of all African countries, Nigeria sends the most students to its tertiary institutions of learning, and thus, a valuable member of its international student community. Following this appraisal, the United States government has declared prioritization for student visa applications from Nigeria.
The United States Mission to Nigeria has stated its commitment in ensuring that all student visa applicants from Nigeria, intending to resume by fall this year will be scheduled for visa interviews, well before the commencement date of their academic program.
The embassy locations in Abuja and Lagos are to provide assistance to visa applicants in this class in keeping up with their deadlines, through timely scheduling of appointments, while maintaining strict adherence with corona virus safety guidelines. This announcement was made on Friday, by the Consular coordinator of the U.S. embassy, Ms. Susan Tiller.
